A modest hamlet in Guadalajara's La Alcarria region, Zorita de los Canes sits on the water and is home to the Castle of Zorita de los Canes, a medieval fortress given to Alfonso VIII in 1174 and held by the Dukes of Pastrana until 1723. The wider region has UNESCO World Heritage sites within reach, and the mountains are close by.
