Declared a historic-artistic ensemble in 1966, Pastrana is a small village in Guadalajara's La Alcarria region whose medieval and Renaissance character remains largely intact. The Ducal Palace, once home to the Princess of Éboli, stands alongside a collegiate church housing Flemish tapestries commissioned by Alfonso V, and several convents founded by Saint Teresa of Ávila. The village has a handful of cafés and restaurants for its size, scenic surroundings, and a strong visual identity that has drawn independent travellers.
