Târgu Jiu

Târgu Jiu is home to the Sculptural Ensemble of Constantin Brâncuși — a UNESCO World Heritage Site inscribed in 2024 — and is also the birthplace of the sculptor himself, making it the primary destination for his work in Romania. The town sits on the banks of the river Jiu in the Oltenia region, close to the Southern Sub-Carpathians, with a walkable centre well supplied with cafés and restaurants.
