Świebodzice, a town in south-western Poland's Lower Silesian Voivodeship, sits at the foot of the Wałbrzych Foothills along the Pełcznica river and on the edge of the Książański Landscape Park. Its most striking nearby feature is Książ Castle, which was expanded during World War II to include a cave complex intended as private quarters for Adolf Hitler. The compact centre has a concentration of cafés and restaurants, and the surrounding hills offer scenic viewpoints.
