Slovenske Konjice

Slovenia

Small wine-country town in northeastern Slovenia's Dravinja Valley, Slovenske Konjice sits between the forested slopes of Konjiška gora to the south and the vine-covered Škalce hills — the southernmost reaches of the Pohorje range — to the north. The sheltered position between these two ridges gives the town a mild climate, and its compact centre has a café and restaurant scene to match its role as the regional hub for the western Dravinja Valley.
