A modest district capital on the River Enns in Styria, Liezen serves as the economic and administrative hub of Austria's largest district by area. The town has a compact central core with cafés and restaurants, and the surrounding Enns valley — close to mountains and within reach of UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region — is where most of the area's sights are found.
