This small coastal town on the island of Euboea, built on a hill above its port village of Kymi Beach, has an unusual concentration of churches for its size alongside a modest café and restaurant scene. Historically the capital of southern Euboea and seat of the Metropolis of Karystos and Skyros, it sits in fertile agricultural country known for its figs, olives, and vineyards, with ferry connections to the island of Skyros.
