Eretria
Εύβοια · Greece
This waterfront town on Euboea facing the Attic coast across the South Euboean Gulf, Eretria was among the most significant Greek city-states of the 6th and 5th centuries BC. Excavations of the ancient city, begun in the 1890s and ongoing since 1964, give the modern town a strong archaeological identity alongside its café scene, waterside setting, and proximity to vineyards.
