Ganllwyd
TLL32 · United Kingdom
Gold-mining history gives this small Snowdonia hamlet an unexpected industrial past: remains of the former workings are visible behind the village hall, and the Ffridd Goch mine and Cefn Coed complex produced gold here between 1896 and 1922. Ganllwyd sits in a valley in Gwynedd where the Gamlan and Mawddach rivers meet, within the national park north of Dolgellau, with mountain terrain and scenic surrounds on all sides.
