Walkable town in North Rhine-Westphalia with a food-and-drink scene concentrated in a pedestrian zone that runs through the old medieval town centre. Granted town status in 1302, Euskirchen retains sections of its original town wall and three defensive towers standing alongside modern buildings. The wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the Eifel uplands lie close by.
