Armenia's main ski resort sits on the eastern slopes of Mount Teghenis, a short drive northeast of Yerevan, and draws visitors year-round with forested mountain terrain and a cable car. The 11th-century Kecharis Monastery, founded in 1033, anchors the town historically — it served as a summer residence for Armenia's Arsacid kings in antiquity. Despite its small size, Tsaghkadzor has a reasonable spread of cafés and restaurants, and a Wikivoyage entry reflects its standing as one of Armenia's most visited destinations.
