Savoca

A hilltop village in the hills above Sicily's Ionian coast, Savoca is named among I Borghi più belli d'Italia for its medieval lanes, old churches, and the ruins of Pentefur Castle along the ridge. Film travellers know it as the Corleone of Coppola's Godfather: the church of San Nicolò staged Michael Corleone's wedding, and Bar Vitelli still serves granita in the courtyard from the film. The land falls away toward the sea below.
