Castiglione di Sicilia

This compact Sicilian village in mountain terrain above Catania holds an unusually high number of churches for its size, a handful of cafés and restaurants, and scenic viewpoints across the surrounding landscape. It is listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia — Italy's most beautiful villages — and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites. The local territory was declared of notable public importance by regional decree in 1994.
