Ruakaka
New Zealand
A modest beachside village on Bream Bay in Northland, Ruakākā sits a short drive south of Whangārei on New Zealand's North Island. Originally a quiet coastal community, it grew in the 1980s alongside expansion at nearby Marsden Point, home to New Zealand's sole oil refinery, and has continued to develop with a more recent timber processing facility at the same site.
