Nitra
Nitriansky kraj · Slovakia
One of Slovakia's oldest cities, Nitra sits at the foot of Zobor Mountain along the Nitra River in the southwest of the country, with a centre dense with historic churches and a strong café and restaurant scene. Long regarded as Slovakia's agricultural capital, the city has a history reaching back to the Principality of Nitra, one of the earliest political formations in the region, and today serves as the administrative centre of the surrounding kraj.
