Marmaris

This Mediterranean port resort on the Turkish Riviera where mountains meet the sea, Marmaris has a walkable centre dense with restaurants and bars alongside two major marinas that serve sailors and divers. Ferries connect the town to the Greek islands of Rhodes and Symi, and Dalaman Airport is about an hour's drive east. The town is also known for its local honey, though international tourism has shaped its character since a construction boom in the 1980s transformed what was once a fishing village.
