UNESCO World Heritage-listed Buddhist temple in Gongju, South Korea, Magoksa sits on the eastern slope of Taehwasan mountain where the Taegeukcheon Stream curves in a taegeuk shape around it. A head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, it offers temple stay programs for visitors wanting to experience Buddhist monastic culture firsthand. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2018 as part of the "Sansa, Buddhist Mountain Monasteries in Korea" designation.
