Lenzburg

Switzerland

A medieval hill town in the Swiss canton of Aargau, Lenzburg is anchored by Schloss Lenzburg, a castle that grew from an 11th-century fortification on the Schlossberg. The town received its charter from the Habsburgs in 1306, and after the Swiss Confederation took control in 1415 the castle served as a regional governor's seat. Set in the Seetal valley with wine country nearby, the town sits on the Aabach and retains a café and restaurant scene substantial for its size.
