Jibou, a tiny Transylvanian town in Sălaj County, sits on the Someș River and draws visitors to three main attractions: the historic Wesselényi Castle, a botanical garden on the former Wesselényi estate that ranks among Romania's most interesting, and thermal baths fed by a saltwater mineral spring with curative properties. The town lies a short distance northeast of the county seat Zalău, with UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region.
