Demnate

Morocco

A town at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains in central Morocco, Demnate sits close to several natural landmarks: the Iminifery natural land bridge and cave, protected since 1949 and later classified as a site of biological and ecological importance; dinosaur traces; and the Ouzoud Falls. One of Morocco's highest peaks rises a short distance to the southwest. The town has historically served as a link between Marrakesh, roughly 110 km to the west, and Morocco's southern regions, and most residents speak Tashelheit Berber.
