Volos
Μαγνησία, Σποράδες · Greece
Port city on the Gulf of Pagasae in Thessaly, Volos is known for an exceptionally dense café and restaurant scene along its waterfront, with vineyards in the surrounding region. The city sits at the foot of Mount Pelion and near the site of ancient Iolkos. Much of the urban fabric dates from rebuilding after destructive earthquakes in 1955, giving the centre a largely modern character alongside its historic churches.
