Vilyeyka

Belarus

A town in Belarus's Minsk Region, Vilyeyka sits on the Viliya River and has been recorded in history since 1460. Its most unusual feature is a nearby VLF transmitter operated by the Russian Navy, used to communicate with atomic submarines across the Atlantic, Indian, and parts of the Pacific Ocean. The town also serves as a road and rail junction on the Maladzyechna–Polatsak line, a short drive northwest of Minsk.
