This little village in the Uppony Hills of northern Hungary, sitting in the valley of the Csernely stream within the Bükk region's mountain terrain. Accessible by a single road from Borsodbóta, it sits on the edge of the Lázbérci Landscape Protection Area, whose creation closed the through-route toward Dédestapolcsány to general traffic. The surrounding hills offer scenic viewpoints, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
