This coastal fishing town on the South Atlantic in Angola's Namibe Province, Tombua sits on a natural harbour that also serves as a base for oil production. Mountains are visible from the waterfront, and the surrounding municipality extends south to the Namibian border, taking in the communities of Iona and São Martinho dos Tigres. The town was formerly known as Porto Alexandre.
