Telegraph Cove
Mount Waddington D · Canada
A tiny former fishing and cannery village on northern Vancouver Island, Telegraph Cove is now a base for kayaking and whale-watching in Johnstone Strait, where orca spend the summer months. The community traces its origins to a federal telegraph line built in 1911–12, and a salmon saltery and sawmill once defined its working life. Today it draws eco-tourism, with mountain terrain and waterfront scenery making it a strong destination for photographers.
