Taza
Province de Taza · Morocco
Strategically placed in the corridor between the Rif and Middle Atlas mountains, Taza is one of Morocco's oldest cities and historically the key to controlling the country — no dynasty could hold Morocco without holding Taza. The surrounding landscape includes mountains and caves, among them the Friouato Cave. Today it serves as a provincial capital in northeastern Morocco, a short drive east of Fez.
