Sukhothai
Sukhothai · Thailand
Sukhothai Historical Park preserves the ruins of a city that served as capital of one of the earliest major Thai states, flourishing through the 13th and 14th centuries as a centre of Thai politics, religion, art, and urban planning. The historic site, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1991 alongside Si Satchanalai and Kamphaeng Phet, sits a short distance west of the modern city of Sukhothai in north-central Thailand.
