Struga
North Macedonia
This lakeside town in south-western North Macedonia where the Black Drim River meets Lake Ohrid, Struga has a walkable centre with a strong café and restaurant scene and a waterfront that photographs well. It is also known as the "City of Poetry" for its annual international poetry festival. Lake Ohrid itself is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region, and mountains rise close by.
