Sitakunda, on the Bay of Bengal coast north of Chattogram, is known for the Chandranath Temple and the hill it crowns, a hot water spring nearby, and Bangladesh's first eco-park — the Sitakunda Botanical Garden and Eco-Park. The town also sits alongside a major ship-breaking industry that has made it one of Chattogram's principal industrial zones. Guliyakhali beach lies within reach for those arriving from the city.
