A coastal resort city on the southern shore of Jeju Island, Seogwipo sits on a rocky volcanic coastline with a dense café and restaurant scene, scenic viewpoints, and direct access to the water. It holds a UNESCO World Heritage Site and hosted matches during the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Hallasan, Jeju's most prominent mountain, rises directly to the north, and the city's urban centre spreads along the coast in both directions from its port.
