A particularly photogenic pocket-sized town on a promontory at the northern entrance to the Strait of Messina, Scilla has a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size and scenic viewpoints over the water and mountains beyond. It is also the traditional site of the sea monster Scylla of Greek mythology, lending the town a name recognised far beyond Calabria.
