Roxburgh
New Zealand
Little village on the banks of the Clutha River in Central Otago, Roxburgh is one of New Zealand's significant apple-growing regions, with cherries and apricots also harvested locally — making summer fruit a draw for visitors passing through on State Highway 8. The Roxburgh Dam, the earliest major hydroelectric dam built on the Clutha, sits a short distance north of town, and the village has a modest café and restaurant scene for its size.
