Photogenic Tasmanian hamlet on the Macquarie River, Ross is known for its historic sandstone bridge, original sandstone buildings, and convict history, all listed on the Register of the National Estate. Little as it is, the village supports a handful of cafés and restaurants, and sits within reach of mountain scenery in Tasmania's Midlands, roughly midway between Launceston and Hobart.
