Reitoca
Honduras
A little agricultural village in the mountains of Honduras's Francisco Morazán department, southwest of Tegucigalpa, where the surrounding hills and rural landscapes offer hiking and outdoor activity. The local economy runs on maize, beans, and cattle, with some craft and textile production. The Nahuatl name Reitoca derives from a word meaning "place of the soft juncus." Semana Santa is among the main cultural events, marked by processions and religious observances.
