Once one of the great cities of ancient Moab — known then as Rabbah of Moab — this compact Jordanian town in the Karak Governorate sits along the historic King's Highway, the ancient route that still connects it north toward Wadi Mujib and south toward Karak. Set on a fertile plain with views toward the Dead Sea and the mountains of Jerusalem, Rabba offers a layered historical setting within reach of several UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region.
