Puerto Natales

Chile

The main gateway to Torres del Paine National Park, Puerto Natales sits on Última Esperanza Sound in Chilean Patagonia, with mountain views across the water and a walkable centre packed with restaurants, cafés, and trekking outfitters. The town also serves as the final port of call for the Navimag ferry from Puerto Montt. Formally founded in 1911, it grew from a sheep-farming settlement built by European immigrants and Chileans from the Chiloé Archipelago, and today tourism is its primary industry.
