Sitting on the left bank of the Paraná River across from Encarnación, Paraguay, Posadas is the capital of Argentina's Misiones province and its largest city, with a heritage-dense centre and several historic churches within walking distance of the waterfront. The San Roque González de Santa Cruz Bridge connects it directly to Paraguay, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites. Regular flights link the city to Buenos Aires.
