A small seaside suburb south of Adelaide on Gulf St Vincent, Port Noarlunga has a café and restaurant scene that outpunches its size, a jetty connecting to a natural reef exposed at low tide, and coastal viewpoints above the Onkaparinga River estuary to the south. The site holds significance for the Kaurna people, who know it as Tainbarang or Tainbarilla and associate it with Tjilbruke, a creator being whose tears are said to have formed a freshwater spring here.
