Morocco's film-production capital, Ouarzazate sits in south-central Morocco where the Draa Valley meets the desert, hosting the country's largest studios and a long list of international productions including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. The fortified village of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies just to the west. The city also serves as a base for excursions into the Draa Valley and the Sahara, with a walkable centre offering cafés and restaurants.
