Obercorn
Luxembourg
Compact section of the commune of Differdange in Luxembourg's canton of Esch-sur-Alzette, Obercorn is where the River Chiers — a tributary of the Meuse — has its source. The town has an outdoor swimming pool that draws summer visitors, a cultural centre, and a train station. It holds an unexpected place in pop history: Depeche Mode played a concert here in March 1982, later naming an instrumental B-side "Oberkorn (It's A Modest Town)" after the experience.
