Murom

Russia

One of Russia's oldest cities, first mentioned in 862, Murom sits on the west bank of the Oka River in Vladimir Oblast and served as the centre of a medieval principality. Its walkable centre has a real café and restaurant scene, and the river is within easy reach on foot. A major railway junction on the Moscow–Kazan line makes it straightforwardly accessible.
