Miagao's Baroque church — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Baroque Churches of the Philippines — anchors this small Iloilo town on the western coast of Panay. Known as the Onion Capital of the Visayas, the town sits on the Tumagbok River and holds a multi-day patronal fiesta each September 22 in honor of Santo Tomas de Villanueva. The wider municipality has also been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage City.
