Maricá
Maricá · Brazil
A coastal municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Maricá sits along the water with beaches across its four districts and rural properties — little farms and large ranches — many carrying historical traces of an earlier era. Remnants of the old Estrada de Ferro Maricá railway line, including stations, tracks, a tunnel, and a bridge, survive in the Inoã district. The wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites, and Niterói is among the neighbouring cities within easy reach.
