Lysebotn
Norway
At the far end of Lysefjorden, Lysebotn is the gateway to Kjerag — a mountain draw for hikers and BASE jumpers alike — and receives well over 100,000 visitors a year despite being reachable only by boat or a seasonal road of 27 hairpin bends. Boats run from Stavanger, passing beneath the Preikestolen cliff en route. Summer options include guided kayak tours, and accommodation ranges from camping to a hostel and bed and breakfast.
