Ludington
Mason County · United States
A little Lake Michigan city at the mouth of the Pere Marquette River, Ludington is the home port of the SS Badger, a vehicle and passenger ferry that crosses to Manitowoc, Wisconsin in summer. The surrounding area includes Ludington State Park, Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness, and Manistee National Forest, with the Big Sable Point Light among the landmarks nearby. The compact central core has cafés and restaurants, and the town holds an unusual number of historic churches for its size.
