The trade capital of Spain's Rioja wine country, Logroño sits on the Ebro River in northern Spain and was named the country's first Gastronomy Capital in 2012 — a title backed by one of the densest concentrations of tapas bars and restaurants in Spain. The Camino de Santiago passes through the city, and the wider region holds several UNESCO World Heritage sites. Mountains are visible from the city, and vineyards begin at its edges.
