La Esperanza
Honduras
La Esperanza, the capital of Honduras's Intibucá department, is known for having the coolest climate in the country and serves as the heart of the Ruta Lenca, a government- and UN-designated cultural trail spanning Lenca indigenous territory across Honduras. The town merges seamlessly with the older Lenca community of Intibucá, separated only by a single street, and the combined area is a centre for traditional Lenca crafts including pottery. A small café and restaurant scene sits within the walkable central core.
