Former coastal province in Vietnam's Mekong Delta, Kiên Giang was long regarded as one of the region's leading cultural and tourism destinations, known for the sea-stack formation of Hòn Phụ Tử and the island of Phú Quốc. The historic town of Hà Tiên, once celebrated in a classical set of ten landscape poems, sits within its boundaries. The province was merged into An Giang in 2025, with its economy historically rooted in fishing and rice farming along a long Gulf of Thailand coastline.
