Kielce

This city in the Świętokrzyskie (Holy Cross) Mountains of south-central Poland, Kielce sits on the Silnica River and serves as a base for the surrounding national park and mountain scenery. The centre has a dense café and restaurant scene alongside a concentration of historic churches. The city has a history stretching back over 900 years, was once a significant limestone-mining centre, and is home to the handball club Vive Kielce, a multiple Polish champion and EHF Champions League winner.
