Jonzac

Charente-Maritime · France

A spa town in the Charente-Maritime since 1986, Jonzac sits on the Seugne river in the heart of Cognac wine country, with a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size. The medieval château and the church of Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais rise above the old town on two hills, and a leisure water complex called Les Antilles de Jonzac adds a further draw. The historian Jean Glénisson and the philosopher Jean Hyppolite were both born here.
